Información Adicional: Socióloga, doutorada em Estudos de Género pela Universidade de Leeds, Reino Unido, é Investigadora no Centro de Estudos Sociais, Universidade de Coimbra, e Honorary Research Fellow no Birkbeck Institute for Social Research, Universidade de Londres. Tem trabalhado em projetos de investigação sobre género, sexualidade, direitos sexuais e reprodutivos, cidadania e direitos humanos. Coordenou, entre 2012 e 2014, o projeto Intimidade e Deficiência, sobre mulheres deficientizadas, sexualidade e reprodução, financiado pela Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia. Recebeu em 2013 o prémio internacional Research Starting Grant do European Research Council na qualidade de líder do estudo Citizenship, Care and Choice: The micropolitics of intimacy in Southern Europe (INTIMATE). O projeto internacional INTIMATE decorre entre 2014 e 2019 e inclui temas como conjugalidade lésbica, poliamor, procriação medicamente assistida e a centralidade de relações de amizade entre pessoas transgénero. O seu livro mais recente é Social Movements and Sexual Citizenship in Southern Europe (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013). Outras publicações incluem Cometi um Crime? Representações sobre (i)legalidade do aborto (Afrontamento, 2010), Bound and Unbound: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Genders and Sexualities (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2008), Estudos Queer: Identidades, Contextos e Acção Colectiva (Revista Crítica de Ciências Sociais, 76, 2006) e A Lei do Desejo: Direitos Humanos e Minorias Sexuais em Portugal (Afrontamento, 2005). É vice-coordenadora da Sexuality Research Network da Associação Europeia de Sociologia, Vice-presidente do Conselho Científico do Centro de Estudos Sociais da Universidade de Coimbra e Cocoordenadora do Programa de Doutoramento Human Rights in Contemporary Societies. É também ativista dos movimentos feminista e LGBT/queer, e sócia-fundadora da associação não te prives – Grupo de Defesa dos Direitos Sexuais. Biographical note Ana Cristina Santos is a Sociologist. She holds a PhD in Gender Studies, University of Leeds, UK. She is a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra, and Honorary Research Fellow at the Birkbeck Institute for Social Research, University of London. Cristina has been involved in a number of research projects exploring issues of gender, sexual and reproductive rights, citizenship, disability and human rights. Between 2012 and 2014 she was Principal Investigator in the research Disabled Intimacies? Sexual and Reproductive Citizenship of Disabled Women in Portugal, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology. More recently she was awarded a 5 year Research Grant by the European Research Council to lead a comparative study on Citizenship, Care and Choice: The micropolitics of intimacy in Southern Europe. Being the first comparative study of intimate citizenship in Southern Europe, INTIMATE involves conducting cross-national qualitative research in Italy, Portugal and Spain on the following topics: lesbian coupledom, polyamorous relationships, assisted conception and surrogacy, naming a child, transgender and care, and living with friends in adult life. INTIMATE runs from 2014 to 2019. Co-coordinator of the International PhD Program Human Rights in Contemporary Societies and Vice-chair of the Sexuality Research Network of the European Sociological Association, Cristina is also an activist in the LGBT/queer and feminist movements in Portugal. Her most recent book is Social Movements and Sexual Citizenship in Southern Europe (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013).
